Tragic Fire Claims Lives of Mum and Three Young Kids in Bradford
Devastation has struck Bradford after Bryonie Gawith, 29, and her three children were killed in a fierce house fire on Westbury Road. The family lost their lives on Wednesday, leaving friends and neighbours stunned and heartbroken.
Beloved Bryonie Remembered as ‘Joyful and Bubbly’
Known as “B” to those close to her, Bryonie was a radiant spirit – a “happy, joyful, bubbly beautiful woman” and the life of every party. Her partner Jonathan broke down, saying he was “absolutely distraught” at losing his fiancée and their children Denisty, 9, Oscar, 5, and baby Aubree, just 22 months old.
“I loved them with all my heart, and if I had the chance, I would take their place in a heartbeat,” Jonathan said. He described Bryonie as a loving mother who cherished every moment with her kids.
Police Investigate Suspected Deliberate Domestic Fire
West Yorkshire Police confirmed a 39-year-old man, arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder, remains in critical condition in hospital. He is the ex-partner of a visitor to the family home and is believed to be linked to the blaze, which officers describe as “deliberate” and “domestic” in nature.
The force revealed officers had attended the address last month for an unrelated matter, but no referral was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
Community Mourns, Tributes Pour In
Flowers and heartfelt messages now cover the scene as local residents pay tribute to Bryonie and her children, known affectionately as Chuch, Oggy, and Strawberry. Bryonie’s family thanked the community for their support but asked for privacy as they navigate their unbearable grief.
“No words can describe how we are feeling, and no words could ever make up for the profound loss we are now faced with,” they said.
The police investigation continues as the tight-knit community rallies around the family, united in sorrow and support during this tragic time.
