Hammer Attack and Bike Theft Shocks Shepperton

Police are hunting four suspects after a man was hammered and his motorbike stolen in broad daylight in Shepperton. The victim was at his home on Linden Way when, just after 4pm on Thursday 4 July, he heard a motorbike start outside.

Victim Struck While Trying to Stop Thieves

When the victim went out, he found two men in full-face helmets trying to steal his Suzuki GSXR. He tried to hold onto the bike but was hit on the arm with a hammer. Fortunately, his injuries were minor and he didn’t need hospital treatment.

Suspects Flee on Mopeds, Police Chase Fails

The gang sped off towards Sunbury-on-Thames on two mopeds plus the stolen Suzuki. Officers spotted them on Windmill Road and gave chase. However, the suspects escaped at speed towards Feltham. The search for the stolen bike and the culprits continues.

Descriptions of the Armed Thieves

  • All four suspects are believed to be white men.
  • All wore full-face helmets and dark, long-sleeved clothing.
  • The Suzuki rider wore a black top with a white Puma logo, black trousers, and black shoes with a white stripe.
  • The black moped rider wore a black balaclava; the passenger wore a grey tracksuit and white trainers.
  • The scooter rider was dressed in a black coat.

PC Schulz said: “This was an extremely distressing ordeal for the victim, who was fortunate not to suffer a more serious injury. We are keen to speak to the people in the images as we believe their information will greatly assist our investigation.”

“While the images aren’t very clear, if you recognise these people, please come forward. Also, stay vigilant—lock your bike’s rear wheel and cover it to deter thieves.”
