Party Crashers Hit with Fines on First Day of Lockdown

Four young adults got the party wiped out at Adelaide Place just after 1.30am on Thursday, 5 November 2020. That’s the very day new national Covid-19 lockdown rules kicked in, banning people from leaving their homes or meeting others except for essential reasons.

£200 Fines For Flouting Lockdown

Assistant Chief Constable Hits Out at Rule Breakers

Assistant Chief Constable Claire Nix said: “Hosting large gatherings in the middle of a pandemic, especially on the first day of a new national lockdown, is completely unacceptable. We will not hesitate to act against those showing blatant disregard for coronavirus rules.”

She added, “These selfish parties endanger not only attendees but also vulnerable family members and others they might come into contact with — including the elderly and those with serious health issues.”
