Emergency services scrambled to Bullockstone Road at 4:36pm today after a vehicle crashed into a gas pipeline, causing a major leak. Two fire engines from Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) joined forces with Kent Police, a gas safety engineer, and the South East Coast Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to tackle the crisis.
Precautionary Evacuations Shake Local Residents
For safety, one home and a nearby caravan site were evacuated as crews raced to contain the leak. Locals reported a strong smell of gas lingering in the air, but officials say the situation is under control.

Driver Checked, No Serious Injuries
The driver involved in the crash was assessed by SECAmb paramedics and thankfully suffered no serious injuries.
