Baby Boy Found Dead in Hythe Woodland Sparks Police Probe
Police are hunting answers after a newborn baby boy was found dead in woodland near Shore Road, Hythe, this afternoon. Officers were called to the scene at 2.05pm on March 5 and have launched an investigation amid growing concern.
Grim Scene: Investigation Underway
The death is being treated as unexplained. Police have set up a scene and are conducting extensive house-to-house inquiries in the area tonight and tomorrow. A heavier police presence remains as they dig deeper into the tragedy.
Direct Plea to Baby’s Mother
Detective Chief Inspector Ross Toms addressed the mother directly: “I have no doubt this will have been a very distressing experience for the mother of this baby. Our priority right now is to ensure she receives the care and assistance she requires.”
He urged her to come forward: “You may be very frightened right now. It is vitally important that you make contact with us or someone else. If you don’t want to speak to the police, please seek help from a healthcare professional or visit a hospital immediately. It’s crucial you get the right support.”
Police Appeal for Information
Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw anything unusual around Shore Road or Frost Lane, or anyone aware of a woman recently heavily pregnant or who has recently given birth.
DCI Toms added: “If you’ve got CCTV or dash cam footage from the area, please share it with us. No detail is too small.”
