Chaos on the Farm: Dog Attacks and Kills Sheep in Kent
Spaniel Rampage Leaves Ewes Dead and Injured
Police were scrambled to a field near Ashenbank Woods, Halfpence Lane after a large black and white Spaniel was seen savaging sheep at around 9.20am on Monday 6 May 2024. Three ewes died from fatal injuries, while several others needed urgent treatment.
The dog had already fled the scene with its owner before officers arrived. Despite a thorough search, the animal was nowhere to be found.
Investigation Underway as Farmers Suffer During Lambing Season
PC Nathan Colman, the investigating officer, spoke out about the incident: ‘This was a very distressing attack. We are working hard to identify who should have been controlling the dog at the time. Offences like this hit farmers hard, especially during lambing season.’
He urged anyone with information to come forward and help with the enquiries.
