Based on Val McDermid’s bestselling novel A Darker Domain, the three-part series follows the fearless Scottish investigator Karen Pirie, played again by Lauren Lyle. Lyle’s stellar performance in series one earned her BAFTA accolades, including Best Actress Television and Favourite Scot on Screen.
This time around, Karen and her team dive into the chilling 1984 kidnapping of heiress Catriona Grant and her baby son. The case is murkier than ever, with dark secrets from the past threatening to resurface as justice hangs in the balance.
