Portsmouth Nursery Shuts Down After Bomb Threat

Little Sunbeams and Mayfield School Closed

Little Sunbeams Nursery and Mayfield School in Portsmouth will remain shut on Monday, 16th March after a threatening email warned of a device planted on school grounds.

Police Lead Investigation

Authorities have been working around the clock since the threat was received. Police are combing the premises to ensure the safety of pupils and staff. The school closure allows officers to complete their investigation without disruption.

Safety Comes First, Says Headteacher

“The safety of our pupils and staff is our number one priority and therefore we will not reopen until the Police have advised us that the threat against our school has been dealt with,” said Headteacher David Jeapes.

Reopening Expected Tuesday

The school hopes to reopen at the usual times on Tuesday, 17th March. However, they will only confirm once all police checks are complete and the site is declared safe.
