Mayfield School Shut Down After Scary Bomb Threat
Mayfield School and Little Sunbeams Nursery will remain closed on Monday 16th March following a serious threat against the school. Staff received a chilling email claiming a device had been planted on the premises.
Police Step In to Secure the Site
Police have worked closely with the school throughout the day, investigating the claim. To keep everyone safe, a tough decision was made to shut the school on Monday while the police comb the grounds.
Reopening Planned for Tuesday
Officials expect the school to reopen as normal on Tuesday 17th March, pending final clearance from the police.
Headteacher Speaks Out
Headteacher David Jeapes said: “The safety of our pupils and staff is our number one priority and we will not reopen until the police confirm the threat has been resolved.”
