Murder Suspect in Custody Amid Intense Police Search
Stephen Nicholson, a 24-year-old care worker lodging at the family home on Mansel Road, remains in police custody. Detectives have been given extra time to quiz him as they hunt for Lucy’s missing jacket and other crucial items.
A Hampshire Police source revealed forensic teams spent two days combing the area around Nicholson’s mother’s house, seeking key evidence.
Emotional Tribute to ‘Bright, Cheerful’ Daughter
On Facebook, Stacey posted a heartbreaking tribute to Lucy, describing her as “bright, cheerful and much loved.” Sharing a GoFundMe link to help cover funeral costs, Stacey wrote, “My precious baby girl. We’re all trying to come to terms with it all slowly and just feel numb.”
She also urged: “Please don’t blame my family for what’s happened.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Clues
Lucy was found partially clothed in woodland in Southampton early on Friday morning. She was last seen wearing a distinctive black jacket with white sleeves, featuring the band Falling in Reverse’s logo on the front and “RADKE 01” in red on the back.
Hampshire Police confirmed Nicholson has not been charged but is being questioned over suspicions of sexual activity with a minor and murder.
They are urgently asking anyone with information or who saw Lucy to come forward.
