Armed Police Descend on GothInk Studio

Armed police and paramedics rushed to GothInk Studio on Lower Bridge Street, Canterbury, Monday afternoon. Two air ambulances and two land ambulances were scrambled to the scene. Kent Police quickly sealed off the area, which remains cordoned off as investigations continue.

Major Crime Unit Takes Over Investigation

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Major Crime Team were spotted entering the tattoo studio early Monday evening. Blue and green tarpaulins now cover the front windows, adding to the grim atmosphere just yards from the iconic Canterbury Cathedral.

Disturbing Claims from Locals

A local on the Canterbury residents’ page claimed a man fatally stabbed his girlfriend before trying to take his own life. Police have not yet confirmed any arrests. Meanwhile, officers gathered oxygen cylinders, emergency first aid kits, and drugs belonging to the South East Coast Ambulance Service outside the building.

Police Statement

Kent Police said: “We are currently attending premises in Lower Bridge Street following reports of two people found with injuries. Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to the scene around 5.20pm on Monday 11 April 2022. The road remains closed between St George’s roundabout and Burgate while enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.”
