A frantic multi-agency search unfolded in Totton on Monday evening after a car was found sunk in water on Eling Lane.

At 9.27pm on June 5, police, Hampshire Fire, South Central Ambulance Service, UK Coastguard, Calshot RNLI Lifeboat, and a Coastguard Rescue Helicopter were rushed to the scene. But due to foul weather, the helicopter had to return to base at Lee-on-the-Solent.
Stolen Car Leads to Intense Shoreline Search
The silver Vauxhall Astra, reportedly stolen from a burglary earlier that day, was involved in a brief police chase before ending up submerged.
