Man Busted with 130 Nitrous Oxide Canisters in Royal Wootton Bassett
A 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly supplying psychoactive substances after cops found over 100 nitrous oxide canisters at his home.
Uninsured Car Leads to Drug Haul
The drama kicked off on October 8 when police stopped the man’s uninsured vehicle. A search uncovered a stash of pills thought to be illegal drugs. He was immediately arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.
Huge Nitro Stash Seized in Home Raid
Officers quickly secured a search warrant for the man’s Royal Wootton Bassett address. On Sunday, RWB Team 5 swooped and bagged a whopping 130 nitrous oxide canisters from the property and an associated vehicle.
Following the haul, the man was hit with a fresh charge of possessing or offering to supply a psychoactive substance. He has since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
Police Warn Community Over Danger of ‘Laughing Gas’
“The law states it’s legal to possess nitrous oxide but illegal to sell it,” said Acting Police Sergeant Ian Woodward. “It’s used by people seeking a high at great risk to their personal health.”
“Local residents have been reporting sites where used canisters are being dumped. We take these reports seriously and will prosecute anyone involved.”
