Man Arrested After Brutal Hammer Attack on Teen Girl in Portsmouth
Police have arrested a 28-year-old Portsmouth man following a savage assault on a 17-year-old girl in Shearer Road, Portsmouth. The teen was left with life-threatening injuries after answering her front door on Monday evening, April 11.

Hampshire Police sealed off part of Shearer Road in Fratton after the violent incident unfolded just yards from a child’s birthday party. Witnesses described seeing officers swarm the area within minutes of the attack. One resident, speaking anonymously, revealed the attacker used a large ball-peen hammer.
Victim Rushed to Hospital with Air Ambulance Support
The teenage girl, who was home with her young son at the time, was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with critical injuries shortly after 7pm. Air ambulance doctors accompanied her on the journey, providing essential care at the scene and en route to the hospital.
Police and Forensics Investigate Gruesome Assault
