Manhunt Underway for Serial Burglar Striking Gosport and Fareham
Police have launched a fresh appeal as a serial burglar continues to terrorise homes across Gosport and Fareham. After multiple break-ins in Hill Head, Lee-On-The-Solent, Alverstoke, and Fareham, cops are urging locals to stay vigilant and lock up tight.
New Burglaries Spark Renewed Police Plea
The saga began back in November with six burglaries and one attempted break-in across Fareham, Hill Head, and Stubbington. The thief has mostly forced windows and doors or exploited unlocked entry points. Now, in just the past few weeks, five more burglaries have hit Fareham and Gosport, possibly linked to the earlier spate.
Recent Break-Ins Hit Multiple Streets
- Swordfish Close, Lee-On-The-Solent – 15 January
- Palmerston Way, Alverstoke – 16 January
- Catisfield Lane, Fareham – 17 January
- Monks Way, Hill Head – 19 January
- Pilgrims Way, Hill Head – 11 February
Jewellery and other high-value items have been swiped during these incidents, leaving residents rattled.
Police Urge Residents to Lock Up and Look Out
“We had a great response after our last appeal and have been pushing several lines of enquiry as well as increasing patrols,” said Inspector Richard Thompson.
“Unfortunately, the burglaries continue, so we urge everyone to make sure all windows and doors – even upstairs – are locked tight. Don’t leave valuables on windowsills or in sight. If you spot anything suspicious, call 101 or contact your Neighbourhood Policing Team straight away.”
Residents are warned to keep their homes secure and report any unusual activity immediately as the hunt for the culprit intensifies.
