Tragic A90 Crash Claims Life of 77-Year-Old Frederick Menzies
A heartbreaking collision on the A90 near St Fergus has claimed the life of 77-year-old Frederick Menzies. The fatal crash happened on Wednesday, 28 June 2023, about one mile south of St Fergus when Mr Menzies’ blue Kia Ceed smashed into a white Citroen Relay van.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene – Man Dies, Woman Injured
Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 3:15pm BST, but sadly, Mr Menzies was pronounced dead at the site. The van’s 60-year-old female driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Family Mourns, Police Launch Investigation
The family of Frederick Menzies issued a statement requesting privacy, describing him as a “loving father and husband, adored by his grandchildren.”
“We are deeply saddened by Frederick’s passing and ask for respect during this difficult time,” the family said.
Sergeant Peter Henderson of North East Road Policing offered condolences to those affected and confirmed the crash investigation is ongoing.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dash-Cam Footage
Authorities urge anyone who saw the crash or captured dash-cam footage to come forward. Witnesses can contact police on 101, quoting reference number 2435 of 28 June.
