Knife-Wielding Thug Robs Woman in Southampton – Police Launch Manhunt
Police are hunting a man who robbed a woman at knifepoint outside flats in Southampton in the early hours of Monday, June 13.
Woman Threatened with Knife Near James Street Flats
A 47-year-old woman was approached outside a block of flats on James Street at around 3am. The man threatened her with a knife or similar blade and demanded her belongings.
He made off with her handbag, which contained three mobile phones, a purse, and a mini iPad. The victim shouted for help but suffered no injuries.
Suspect Fled Towards Chantry Footbridge
The culprit was last seen running towards Chantry footbridge. Police are eager to track him down.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
The suspect is described as:
- White male, late 30s to early 40s
- Approximately 6 feet tall
- Slim build
- Short brown hair, clean-shaven
- Wearing a grey hooded jacket, light blue jeans, and trainers
Detective Constable Maria Sweeney said: “We want anyone who saw or heard anything on James Street around 3am to contact us. Did you see a man running from the scene? We need your help.”
