Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Crash on A4361
A motorcyclist has died after a serious collision on the A4361 in Winterbourne Monkton early this morning, 30 August 2024.
Tragic Crash Details
The crash happened around 8:00 AM when a northbound Kawasaki motorcycle collided head-on with a Ford Transit Custom van coming from the opposite direction. Despite emergency crews’ best efforts, the rider – a man in his 50s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
The van driver escaped without injury.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Wiltshire Police have informed the victim’s next of kin and extended their condolences. A force spokesperson said, “Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.”
The A4361 remains closed while police investigate. The road will reopen once inquiries conclude.
