Man Found Dead in Alley Near Ewell Pub Sparks Murder Probe

A shocking daylight discovery in Ewell has left the community reeling. A man was found dead in an alleyway close to The Wheatsheaf pub on Kingston Road, prompting a full murder investigation.

Tragic Death Unfolds at 3.30pm

Police rushed to the scene at around 3.30pm on 9 December after reports of a seriously injured man. Ambulance crews arrived swiftly beside the pub but were unable to save him. He was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.

Major Crime Team Takes Charge

The Surrey and Sussex Police Major Crime Team have sealed off the area. Kingston Road and Chessington Road are closed both ways while officers probe the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Detective Superintendent Chris Friday said: “Firstly, I would like to pay my heartfelt condolences to the man’s family and friends for their loss. We are working at pace to identify those responsible and bring them to justice. I urge anyone with information, or doorbell and CCTV footage from the area, to come forward immediately.”
