Murder Probe Launched After Woman Found Stabbed in Alton

Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman was found dead in Alton with a fatal stab wound. Officers were called to an address in Aldersey Fields at 1.52pm on 10 October, where the body of a 47-year-old woman was discovered.

Two Men Arrested Over Fatal Stabbing

Following a post mortem on 11 October, her death has been confirmed as murder. Two men from Alton – aged 46 and 51 – have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

Police Urge Public to Come Forward

The woman’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving specialist support. Formal identification is still pending.

Detective Inspector McClellan said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation and urge anyone with information to contact us. Were you in the area at the time? Did you see anyone acting suspiciously?”
