Emergency crews were called to an address on Newport’s High Street on 22nd September after reports that the woman was critically ill. She was taken to St Mary’s Hospital, where she later passed away.
At first, the death wasn’t considered suspicious. But fresh enquiries raised red flags and police have since launched a murder probe.
Police Search Property, Man in Custody
Officers have conducted searches at the property while trying to piece together what really happened. Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that the man arrested is known to the woman and remains in custody for questioning.
