Burglars Target Elderly Man in Cosham Flat – Police Hunt Two Suspects
Police are hunting two men who robbed an 80-year-old man in Cosham after pretending to be from the water board.
Fake Water Board Visit Ends in £360 Theft
Between 4pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday, November 9, one man knocked on the victim’s flat door in Medina Road. Claiming to check water pressure, he distracted the elderly resident. While the victim was occupied, a second man sneaked inside and stole £360 in cash.
Two Men Walked Off Towards Cow Lane
The pair then left the property together, heading towards Cow Lane, sparking a police manhunt.
Descriptions of Suspects
- Man 1: White, around 30 years old, 5ft 8in tall, medium build, with an oval face and dark brown curly hair. He spoke with a strong Northern Irish accent and wore a blue denim jacket, possibly with jeans.
- Man 2: White, aged 40-50, thickset, grey swept-back hair, sporting a zip-up long-sleeved fawn woolly jacket. He spoke with a southern English accent.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Constable Emily Dummer urged: “We want to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit or saw two men acting suspiciously in the area at this time.”
