Pedestrian Dies in Tunbridge Wells Car Crash

Tragedy struck in Tunbridge Wells when a man in his 50s was killed after being hit by a silver Mercedes CLK 320. The fatal collision happened at around 11.15am on Thursday 17 August 2023, on the A26 London Road, Southborough, near Yew Tree Road.

Driver Hospitalised, Serious Collision Unit Investigates

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but sadly the pedestrian died instantly. The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. Police have informed the man’s next of kin and launched a probe led by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

Police Hunt Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Officers are now urging anyone who was near the crash to check their dashcams. Footage could be crucial in piecing together what happened. Motorists can upload clips via Kent and Essex Police’s online Evidence Request portal.
