Two Men Arrested After Dawn Firearm and Drug Raids in East London and Essex
Dawn Raids Net Guns, Drugs, and Cash
Two men were hauled in after early morning raids on 13 October across Newham, Dagenham, and Essex. Police swooped at 4:40am, arresting the suspects and seizing a haul that included four firearms, ammunition, a kilo of cocaine, and a whopping £50,000 in cash.
Crackdown on Organised Crime
The Met’s Specialist Crime South, backed by the Territorial Support Group (TSG), targeted the suspects in an intelligence-led operation. Authorities believe the pair were part of an organised crime group involved in drug and gun supply.
More Drugs and Weapons Found
- A kilo of cannabis was seized at a property in Albany Heights, Grays.
- Officers uncovered around 30 cannabis plants hidden in a loft in Dagenham.
- Equipment used for keyless car thefts, including a scanner and jammer, were seized.
- Unusual weapons such as a zombie knife and a sword concealed in a walking cane were also found.
- A further £10,000 cash was recovered from a Newham address.
Suspects Held on Serious Charges
Both men, in their 30s, face charges of supplying Class A drugs and conspiracy to possess firearms. They remain in custody at a south London police station as investigations continue.
Detective Superintendent Steve Ellen said: “The warrants this morning further show our commitment to tackling drug supply and the violent crime that is inextricably linked to it.”
