A 35-year-old woman and her young child were targeted in a shocking midday incident at a bus stop in Bexleyheath.

Man Shouts Hate-Filled Rants at Bus Stop

The drama unfolded at around 3.30pm on Monday, 31 August, on Broadway, Bexleyheath. A man in his late 50s, described as white, was acting strangely. He shouted out random, offensive remarks, including hateful comments about Muslims.

The woman and her seven-year-old child were simply waiting for their bus when the man started the abuse.

Police Investigate Possible Hate Crime

The troubling episode was quickly reported to the police and is now being treated as a possible hate crime.

PC Natalie Kempshall, South East Safer Transport Team, said: “The woman and her child were minding their own business when they were subjected to needless abuse in broad daylight. Anyone who recognises the man pictured is asked to contact us immediately.”
