Terrifying Assault on Trans Pennine Trail at 2am
A 19-year-old woman was raped in the early hours of Friday, April 22, on the Trans Pennine Trail near Bradberry Balk Lane. The attacker is described as a white man, likely in his 20s.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
PC Dan Morley, leading the investigation, said: “This was an extremely concerning incident and the young woman involved has been left very distressed. She is being supported by specially trained officers and an investigation is underway to trace the suspect.”
Officers want to trace three people who spoke to the victim just before the attack. They believe these individuals – a woman and two men – were walking two large dogs near the 1 store on Bradberry Balk Lane.
PC Morley urged: “I’d urge these individuals to get in touch as we believe they may greatly assist us with our enquiries.”
