Massive Ramsgate Cannabis Farm Busted in Police Sting

A giant cannabis cultivation site has been uncovered in Ramsgate after Kent Police launched a sharp operation. A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of growing a Class B drug.

Over 1,000 Cannabis Plants Found in Disused Building

Officers were tipped off about suspicious activity and swooped around 2pm on Wednesday, 23 April, on Broad Street, Ramsgate. Inside a rundown commercial building, they discovered more than 1,000 cannabis plants — a huge illegal grow operation.

The suspect was spotted near the scene as police arrived and taken into custody. Investigations are ongoing.

Dangerous Utility Tampering Puts Locals at Risk

Police also found the electricity and water supplies had been dangerously bypassed — a classic move to power illegal grows without detection. Emergency engineers were called in immediately to make the site safe.

Kent Police officers remain at the location, dismantling the operation and ensuring no threat lingers for the local community.

Police Praise Sharp-Eyed Officers

Inspector Richard Batten said: “Removing these sites quickly is vital to stop criminals funding more serious crimes. Our town centre officers patrol regularly and know the area well, responding fast to anything suspicious to keep Thanet safe.”

This bust is part of Kent Police’s wider crackdown on organised crime and drug trafficking in the region.
