Tragic Death on A3: Pedestrian Dies After Hit by Car
A pedestrian seriously injured in a crash on the A3 near Bramshott has died in hospital, police have confirmed.
Jerrick Gomez Fatally Struck on Busy Road
Jerrick Gomez, 36, from Portsmouth, was hit by a Kia Ceed on the southbound carriageway shortly before 3pm on Saturday, April 5. He was rushed to hospital with grave injuries but sadly passed away on Tuesday, April 9.
His family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
The crash happened on a busy stretch of the A3, and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary want to hear from anyone travelling on the road between 2.30pm and 2.45pm that day.
“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was travelling along the southbound or northbound carriageways near Bramshott between 2.30pm and 2.45pm. If you saw a man walking along either side of the A3 during this time, or have dashcam footage of the incident or the minutes leading up to it, we urge you to get in touch.”
The reason why Mr Gomez was on foot on such a busy carriageway is still under investigation.
