Young delivery rider killed in gang shootout in Brixton
Innocent rider caught in deadly crossfire
Tragedy struck Brixton on Sunday evening when young takeaway delivery rider Guilherme Mesias de Silva was fatally caught in a gang shootout. Guilherme, just in his early 20s, was on his moped heading out to work when stray bullets struck him. Despite paramedics’ desperate efforts, he was declared dead at the scene.
Heartbroken friends paid tribute on social media, calling him “another asphalt warrior” and “a humble boy.” One friend wrote: “Rest in peace my friend. God welcome you with open arms, boy!” Guilherme had been planning to return home to Brazil this December.
Second victim named: drill rapper Perm
Alongside Guilherme, another man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Perm, a popular local drill rapper. Families gathered overnight at the scene, openly mourning the loss and sharing their grief with the community.
Violent shootout erupts on Railton Road
Police were called just before 8pm after reports of gunshots ringing out on Railton Road, SE24. Witnesses say around 12 shots were fired between a pair on a moped and occupants of a car. The car reportedly crashed at the scene during the chaotic exchange.
The Metropolitan Police rushed in with firearms officers and coordinated with London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance. Despite their efforts, two men died on the spot. Officers have established a cordon and continue to investigate.

Local witnesses describe chilling scene
Local Sebastian Morrison described stumbling on the aftermath while on his way to the store.
“I’m no direct witness but locals told me there were around 12 shots fired. A policewoman confirmed it was a shooting. It involved a moped and a car, which later crashed on the scene.”
The community is left shaken by this deadly street violence claiming young lives going about their everyday business.
