Serious Crash on M3: Van Hits Mile Marker, Driver Critical
Police are urgently calling for witnesses after a white Ford Transit Tipper van careered off the M3 northbound between junctions 7 and 6 just after 7:10pm on Friday, July 29.
The van smashed into the mile marker post for junction 6. No other vehicles are thought to be involved, but officers want other drivers who were nearby to come forward.
Driver Hospitalised with Serious Leg Injuries
The 25-year-old Bournemouth man behind the wheel was rushed by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital. His leg injuries are serious, and sources say his condition today remains critical but stable.
M3 Chaos: Road Closures Hit Rush Hour
The crash shut the M3 northbound for around six hours overnight. Meanwhile, the southbound carriageway faced a brief closure to allow an air ambulance to land at the scene.
