Serious collision in Wrenthorpe Park leaves pedestrian badly hurt
Crash in Wrenthorpe Park
Police rushed to Wrenthorpe Park, behind Lombardy Garth near Hornbeam Avenue, at around 3.10pm on Saturday 15 July. They responded to reports that an off-road motorbike had collided with a pedestrian.
Group of riders involved
It’s believed four or five off-road motorcycles were riding in the park that afternoon. One rider reportedly fell off and may have been injured, but fled the scene before officers arrived.
Pedestrian seriously injured
The 62-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Thankfully, police say these are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police launch urgent appeal
Officers want locals to check their CCTV footage for any sign of the bikes. They’re also urging anyone who witnessed the crash or the events leading up to it to come forward.
