Three Dead After Horror Multi-Vehicle Smash

Tragedy struck just after 8.40am on Wednesday when police rushed to a devastating collision involving a Vauxhall Astra, a Mercedes food delivery van, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV), and a DAF recovery truck.

Three people, each from a different vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their families have been informed and are receiving specialist support.

HGV Driver Arrested Over Deadly Crash

The HGV driver, 38, from Donnington, Shropshire, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Police Seek Dashcam Witnesses

Detective Constable Cate Paling, leading the probe, urged anyone who witnessed the crash or the moments before to come forward. She said:

“We are keen to speak with anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage. Notably, a small white car with a black roof passed the scene immediately after and may hold vital information.”
