Tragic Death on A127: Motorcyclist Killed in Horror Crash
Police are hunting witnesses after a motorcyclist died following a smash on the A127 Southend Arterial Road.

The crash happened at 9am on Wednesday, 3 July, just after the Hall Lane interchange on the eastbound carriageway. A motorcycle and a car collided, leaving the rider critically injured.
The rider, a 50-year-old man, was rushed to hospital but sadly died from his injuries on Saturday evening, 6 July. His family have been informed and have agreed to name him as Colin Chapman from Harold Wood.
Driver Stops, Not Arrested
The car driver, a 39-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and was not arrested.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
“We are piecing together the events leading to this fatal collision,” said Detective Constable Darren Case of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. “We especially need to hear from the occupants of a white van and a black car, who were behind the motorcyclist and may have witnessed the crash.”
