Shocking unprovoked attack in Winchester Street leaves 73-year-old man battered and unconscious after being pushed from behind.

Man Pushed to Ground in Brutal Assault

Police rushed to Winchester Street shortly after 7pm on Saturday (29/04) following reports of an assault. A 73-year-old victim was found sprawled in the middle of the road. Witnesses say an unknown male suddenly pushed the elderly man to the pavement from behind.

Victim Suffers Cuts and Loss of Consciousness

Detective Constable Sue Ellway revealed: “We believe this to have been an unprovoked attack. The victim was pushed with such force that he fell to the ground, sustaining cuts to his face, head, and hands, and lost consciousness.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Suspect Identification

Several bystanders, including a female wheelchair user, stopped to help the injured man. Officers are now urging anyone who saw the attack to come forward. They are also keen to identify a man caught on camera, believed to have information vital to the investigation.
