HGV and Nissan Duke Crash Leaves Four Seriously Injured

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at around 8:45am after a two-vehicle crash involving a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) and a Nissan Duke.

Four Hurt, Three Airlifted to Hospital

The Nissan driver, a 44-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Preston Royal Hospital. A 40-year-old woman passenger also sustained serious injuries and was taken to the same hospital.

Two boys, aged 15 and 13, were airlifted with serious injuries—one to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the other to Manchester Hospital.

HGV Driver Arrested, Police Seek Witnesses

The 28-year-old HGV driver from Lancaster escaped unscathed but was arrested in connection with the crash.
