Warning Ahead of Christmas
“With Christmas fast approaching, many will be ordering online and having parcels delivered,” said Superintendent Paul Walker of Manchester’s City District.
“Parcel thefts are especially common in communal entrances of apartment blocks. We urge residents to stay alert and challenge anyone seeking access to their buildings.”
Police and Residents Join Forces
Officers are working with apartment security and handing out leaflets and posters to warn both the public and delivery drivers about the risk of leaving parcels unattended.
“This crime hits hard at Christmas, with many stolen parcels containing gifts for family and loved ones,” Walker added.
Residents are urged to be vigilant and take steps to protect their deliveries in the run-up to the festive season.
