Woman Dies in Horror Crash at Scotch Corner
Fatal Smash on A1(M) Sliproad
A woman from Ryedale tragically died after her Skoda Fabia slammed into a barrier near Scotch Corner at around 4.50pm on Thursday, 24 March 2022.
She was entering the southbound A1(M) from junction 53 when her car collided with an 1 A5 travelling in the same direction. The Fabia then veered off the carriageway before hitting the barrier.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
The driver was rushed to hospital but sadly was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The road was shut temporarily to allow emergency crews to manage the incident.
