Tragedy on Scotland Road: 19-Year-Old Dies in Taxi Collision
Emergency services rushed to Scotland Road at around 2.30am after a taxi struck a pedestrian. The victim, a 19-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Taxi Driver Cooperating as Police Investigate
The taxi driver stayed at the scene and is assisting police with their inquiries. Scotland Road remains closed while emergency teams respond. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the family of the young man,” said Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
“We are investigating and have notified his family. Liaison officers are supporting them. We believe a group of people in the area may have seen what happened, and we urge them to get in touch promptly,” he added.
“If you own property nearby with CCTV or were driving past with dashcam footage, please contact us. Every piece of information is vital.”
