Man Tries to Rob Passenger on District Line Train – Caught After Assault and Racial Abuse
On the evening of 20 May, a District line train between Notting Hill Gate and Wimbledon became the scene of a brazen robbery attempt.
Robbery Attempt Sparks Chaos on Train
Shortly after 8 p.m., a man tried to snatch from a passenger onboard the train. The suspect was quickly identified and confronted by police.
Suspect Attacks Officers During Arrest
While being apprehended, the 52-year-old suspect assaulted one officer and hurled racist abuse at another. He was arrested at the scene and later released under investigation as the case develops.

Police are especially keen to speak with a woman who stepped forward at Wimbledon station and identified the man to officers.
