On the evening of 20 May, a District line train between Notting Hill Gate and Wimbledon became the scene of a brazen robbery attempt.

Shortly after 8 p.m., a man tried to snatch from a passenger onboard the train. The suspect was quickly identified and confronted by police.

Suspect Attacks Officers During Arrest

While being apprehended, the 52-year-old suspect assaulted one officer and hurled racist abuse at another. He was arrested at the scene and later released under investigation as the case develops.
