Teen Girl Shot at Manchester Party in Moss Side

Police were scrambled just before 10.30pm on Friday to Quinney Crescent in Moss Side after reports of a person injured outside a home. A 16-year-old girl was hit by a single gunshot while at a party.

Minor Injuries But Serious Incident

The girl was rushed to hospital in stable condition. Thankfully, police say her wounds are minor. She has been able to speak with officers while receiving treatment. Her family is being supported by police as she recovers.

Passing Car Fired Shot at Crowd

Detectives from Longsight CID believe a vehicle drove past the party and fired a single shot into the crowd. The teen does not appear to have been the intended target, though the investigation is ongoing to uncover the motive.

No Arrests Yet as Probe Continues

“My thoughts are with the victim, whose injuries are thankfully not serious. But incidents like this are reckless and could have ended in tragedy,” said Chief Superintendent Robert Cousen, commander of Manchester Police.

“We are working round the clock to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”

Police have launched extensive searches around Quinney Crescent and surrounding areas, questioning witnesses and gathering evidence to fast-track the investigation. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.

Community Urged to Help

Chief Superintendent Cousen added, “We know several people attended the party and they could hold key information. We thank the community for their patience as we carry out this vital work.”
