Dog Attack at Gedling Country Park Sparks Police Hunt

Police are on the lookout for the owner of a Weimaraner that attacked another dog at Gedling Country Park, Lambley. The Weimaraner, reportedly off its lead, bit a Hungarian Vizsla on her side, leaving the poor pooch needing three stitches.

Incident Details and Suspect Description

The attack happened around 9am on Tuesday, 7 March 2023, near Spring Lane. The owner of the aggressive dog was described as a white man, about 5ft 8ins tall, slim to medium build, aged late 40s to early 50s. He wore a fluorescent orange jacket and a dark bobble hat.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

“This was an extremely alarming and distressing incident for the injured dog’s owner,” said Police Constable Annie Bloomfield of Nottinghamshire Police.

“Our inquiries are ongoing to understand the full circumstances of what happened. We urge the owner of the offending dog to come forward, or anyone who recognises him from the description, to get in touch.”
