Man, 20, Arrested in West London Terror Sting

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences in a dramatic swoop by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command. The arrest took place at a west London address on Tuesday, 5 March.

Swift Action by Police

The suspect was detained under section 41(1) of the Terrorism Act 2000 and is currently held at a south London police station. Officers are conducting an ongoing search at the West 1 location as enquiries escalate.

No Link to London Suspicious Packages

Police made clear that this arrest is unrelated to the separate investigation into suspicious packages sent to three different London buildings earlier the same day.
