Police Granted Extra Time to Question Two Women in Portsmouth Murder Probe
Detectives have secured an extra 36 hours to question two women over the murder of a Portsmouth woman. The grim discovery was made at a Toronto Road address late on January 28.
Tragic Death at Toronto Road
Officers were called to a property on Toronto Road just before midnight on Saturday, January 28, after reports of an injured woman inside. Sadly, the 36-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two Women Held in Custody
Two local women have been arrested in connection with the case. A 43-year-old is held on suspicion of murder, while a 52-year-old faces charges for assisting an offender. Both remain in police custody as questioning continues.
Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward
Detective Inspector Simon Baker said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area of Toronto Road on Saturday night to come forward, no matter how small the detail.”
Specialist officers are supporting the victim’s family, while searches, door-to-door inquiries, and CCTV checks are ongoing.
