Teen Stabbed in Random Attack at Sale Tram Stop
Police were called to Sale Metrolink on Kingston Drive just after 9pm on Wednesday, April 14, after reports of a stabbing.
Officers found a 16-year-old boy with deep cuts to his face, neck, and body. He had been standing with two friends when three young men launched a brutal attack before fleeing the scene.
Victim in Hospital with Life-Changing Injuries
The boy remains in hospital in a stable but serious condition. The attackers were strangers to the victim, making this a chilling random assault.
Man Arrested as Police Hunt Attackers
- A 19-year-old man has been arrested and taken into custody for questioning on suspicion of section 18 assault.
- Investigations are ongoing, with officers desperately appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“From our initial findings, this appears to be a random attack. The victim has suffered some really nasty wounds which could be life-changing,” said Detective Inspector Nicola Walton of GMP’s Altrincham CID.
“Our thoughts are with him as he begins his recovery. We’ve made a significant arrest and are focused on catching everyone involved.
“There is no believed further risk to the community at this time, but anyone with information must get in touch.”
