Masked thug attacks Co-op staff in Shanklin robbery spree

Police are hunting a masked man who stormed the Co-op Welcome store on Arthurs Hill, Shanklin, last night (Wednesday). The thug brutally assaulted one staff member and threatened another with a metal bar during the raid.

Violent Robbery Shakes Shop on Isle of Wight

The balaclava-clad attacker struck at the busy junction of Arthurs Hill and St Martin’s Avenue. He landed a savage blow to a male worker, breaking his nose, before making off with cash. Hampshire Constabulary say the suspect fled towards the Cliff Path right after the robbery.

Robbery Linked to Similar Sandown Incident?

Officers are now probing if this brazen raid is connected to a similar hold-up reported in Sandown just two weeks ago. The masked man is described as white, wearing gloves, a dark jacket, dark trousers, and white trainers.
