Cyclist’s Leg Broken in Hit-and-Run Crash in Preston
Police rushed to the busy junction of Blackpool Road and Plungington Road at around 4.10pm on Saturday, July 9, after a shocking collision between a cyclist and a motorcyclist.
Motorcyclist Flees Scene After Crash
The cyclist, a man in his 30s from Preston, suffered a broken leg and was rushed to hospital for treatment. The motorcyclist, riding a Honda, stopped briefly but then sped off before officers arrived.
Road Shut for Hours While Police Investigate
Authorities closed the road for over three hours as investigators scoured the scene. Lancashire Police are now hunting the hit-and-run rider and urging witnesses to come forward.
“An investigation is underway following a hit and run collision in Preston,” said Sgt Paul McCurrie of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations. “A cyclist has suffered serious injuries. Did you happen to notice what happened?”
