Two victims fell prey to a slick scam after selling items on Facebook – but never received a penny.

£280 Laptop Sale Turns Into £400 Demand

One seller offloaded her laptop for £280, expecting payment via PayPal. She then received a fake email claiming to be from NatWest Bank. The fraudster said the money was held but asked for a delivery receipt to release the funds.

After posting the parcel, the scammer demanded a further £400. Only then did the victim realise she’d been conned.

Second Victim Loses Phone in Same Scam

The second case echoed the first, but this time a phone was sold – with the same fraudulent tactics.

Police Seek Suspect Spotted at Sheffield Post Office

Officers have released an image of a man captured at Firth Park Post Office, Sheffield. He is described as black, aged in his late teens or early twenties. Police want to speak to him about the scam.
