Serious Assault in Worthing Sparks Urgent Police Hunt
Police are hunting for witnesses after a man in his 40s was brutally attacked in the heart of Worthing town centre. The assault happened near the Montague Centre on Liverpool Road at around 2am on Sunday, 10 December.
The victim suffered serious facial injuries and remains in hospital receiving treatment.
Police Keen to Track Down Four Key Witnesses
Detectives are urgently trying to find a group of four people seen near the scene at the time. They include:
- A white woman, around 40, about 5’5”, dark brown hair, northern accent
- Another white woman, mid-30s, 5’8”, long brown hair, wearing a black puffer jacket
- A white man, mid-40s, 5’10”, medium build
- A young white male, about 16, slim, 5’2” tall
Detective Sergeant Issues Strong Appeal
“The victim is being supported by detectives as our enquiries continue,” said Detective Sergeant Verity Spalding.
“This is being treated as a targeted attack, and there’s no ongoing risk to the public.
“We want to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack or noticed suspicious behaviour nearby. If you’ve got any CCTV or doorbell footage, please come forward.”
