Islington Chaos: Gang Causes Havoc, Gun Threat Sparks Panic

Police are hunting a gang who caused mayhem at a White Lion Street restaurant before allegedly threatening a man with a firearm in Islington on Tuesday, 25 February.

Disturbance Sparks Double Police Call-Out

  • First call came in at 5:35pm reporting a group of males causing trouble and threatening restaurant staff on White Lion Street, N1.
  • No weapons were sighted during this early incident.
  • Moments later, a man said he was chased and threatened by the same gang on Great Percy Street.
  • Witnesses claim one suspect was armed with a firearm.

Met Police on High Alert but Gang Flees

Officers from the Metropolitan Police scrambled to both scenes and searched the area thoroughly. Sadly, the gang had vanished before cops arrived.

“We were called at about 17:35hrs on Tuesday, 25 February, to reports of males causing a disturbance and threatening staff at a restaurant. No weapon was seen initially. Shortly after, a man reported being chased on Great Percy Street where one male may have had a firearm,” a Met Police spokesperson confirmed.

“Officers conducted extensive searches but believe the group left the area. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Local Residents Fear for Safety

Shaken locals and business owners voiced worries over the violent episode, fearing for their safety. An anonymous shop worker said:

“It’s scary to think there might have been a gun involved. This is usually a safe area, and things like this make people nervous.”

The Metropolitan Police have pledged to take the reports seriously and are dedicating resources to track down those responsible.
