Co-op Raided in Upminster! The Upminster Bridge Co-op was hit by a break-in in the dead of night on Sunday, 4 May 2025.

Store Targeted Before Dawn

Just before 1am, the Metropolitan Police rushed to the Co-op on Upminster Road after reports of a break-in. Officers found the front entrance smashed with police tape sealing it off and shutters torn open, leaving a gaping hole.

No Arrests Yet as Investigation Continues

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed no arrests have been made so far, but enquiries are ongoing as detectives hunt for leads.

Co-op Issues Statement

“We can confirm that a robbery took place at our Upminster Road store in the early hours of Sunday morning (4th May). We urge anyone with information to come forward to police, who are investigating. The store is now open to serve the community.”

The shop has since reopened and resumed trading.

Police Seek Witnesses

Police are appealing to the public for help. Anyone with info should call 101, quoting reference 354/4MAY.
